Google agrees to $920m-a-month deal with SpaceX
Google has agreed to pay SpaceX US$920 million a month for computing power under a cloud services deal that runs through mid-2029, according to a SpaceX filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
The filing said Google will pay that monthly fee from October through June 2029, with computing capacity ramping up through September at a lower cost.
It also said Google can terminate the contract if SpaceX fails to provide access to Nvidia chips by Sept 30, after a one-month grace period.
Either side can also end the agreement with 90 days’ notice.
The spending would add to Alphabet’s AI infrastructure spending. The company plans 2026 capital expenditure of US$175 billion to US$185 billion after raising its 2025 target to US$85 billion.
In May, Google and SpaceX were also discussing launches for Google’s orbital data center test products.
