🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Peek expands into complex venue operations with ACME Ticketing and Connect&GO
Peek is software for booking and managing activities at attractions. It is widening its venue tools after buying ACME Ticketing and raising $70 million. It also bought Connect&GO.
- ACME Ticketing adds ticketing infrastructure, memberships, plus donations for cultural institutions. Connect&GO brings Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) with on-site visitor tools for complex venues 1.
- The platform has processed over $7 billion in bookings and reached over 150 million consumers 1. Revenue remains unclear as Peek may take a booking fee, charge subscriptions, or use both. Without a take rate or annual recurring revenue (ARR), it is hard to gauge the $70 million and deals.
Systems integrators can win work as Peek unifies venue platforms
As these businesses combine, many customers will move data and workflows to unified systems, which creates near-term implementation work.
- Middleware vendors sell software that connects different applications. Systems integrators are third-party firms that connect and customize multiple software systems. Museums plus attractions juggle separate tools for tickets and memberships, donations, on-site management. Teams fluent in Peek’s Open Connectivity for Tours and Activities (OCTO) reseller API can land migrations, connectors, and analytics dashboards 2.
- Peek implements the OCTO spec for resellers 2. It supports integrations with Expedia, Viator, and GetYourGuide 1. It works with Drip, an email marketing automation platform 3. Partners can pitch payment tuning, fraud tools, or marketing automation if they move with the partner program and API roadmap.
