Venture capital firm Gobi Partners has invested in SkyeChip, a semiconductor integrated circuit (IC) design company in Malaysia.

The funding comes from the Khazanah Nasional-backed Gobi Dana Impak Fund, along with Gobi’s regional funds.

The investment aims to assist SkyeChip with talent acquisition, business expansion, and working capital.

SkyeChip, led by Fong Swee Kiang and Teh Chee Hak, specializes in silicon intellectual property (IP) and custom application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs).

The company focuses on semiconductors for applications in artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC).
