GM to end Bolt EV production next year

GM plans to stop production of the Chevrolet Bolt EV at its Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas by mid-2027, shifting manufacturing of some models from China and Mexico to the US.

The move includes relocating the China-made Buick Envision to Kansas starting in 2028 and transferring the Mexico-made Chevrolet Equinox to Kansas in 2027.

GM confirmed that the current Bolt EV, introduced this month for the 2027 model year, will have a limited production run, with plans to introduce a next-generation Buick SUV at the same plant from 2028.

The company currently sells other EV models, such as the Chevy Equinox and Blazer.
