GlobalWafers, a Taiwanese silicon wafer manufacturer, said that it has not received notifications about possible changes to subsidies under the US CHIPS and Science Act.

The company also noted that any modifications could impact its future investment strategies.

In December 2024, the US Commerce Department finalized US$406 million in grants for GlobalWafers to enhance production at facilities in Texas and Missouri.

This funding is part of US initiatives to increase domestic semiconductor production.

However, sources indicate that the White House may seek to renegotiate some awards. This raises concerns about potential delays in future semiconductor subsidies.
