Global life sciences firm buys 50% stake in UAE cyber company
EarlyHealth Group has acquired a 50% stake in Cyb3r, a Dubai-based cybersecurity company.
EarlyHealth Group provides pharmaceutical services and life sciences solutions in over 60 countries.
Cyb3r, led by Alex Halsall and Jack Tupper, offers cybersecurity services to clients in the Middle East and Europe, including government and healthcare organizations.
The deal aims to integrate Cyb3r’s security offerings with EarlyHealth Group’s life sciences platform and expand both firms’ global reach.
Cyb3r’s existing management will continue to lead the company after the acquisition.
This marks EarlyHealth Group’s third acquisition in 2025.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Too little financial detail to judge strategic fit
- The announcement leaves out basic financials. There is no purchase price, and CYB3R’s revenue or Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) are undisclosed. LinkedIn lists about 36 employees, which may not capture full headcount 1. Investors cannot tell if EarlyHealth Group is diversifying or dabbling in cybersecurity.
- CYB3R launched in 2023. Its profile claims more than 50 projects a year 2, a small operation. The release cites a ‘growing portfolio of 1,200 international enterprises and public organizations’ for CYB3R. It offers no supporting numbers, so the ‘global footprint’ claim looks aspirational and near-term benefits remain unclear for shareholders.
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) healthcare security buying opens space for vendors
- The deal hints that Gulf healthcare and government buyers are spending more on cybersecurity, where CYB3R operates. Cloud infrastructure, identity and access management, and data loss prevention providers can expect more budget beyond managed detection services.
- There are 22 live tenders for access control smart cards across GCC countries 3. Gulf Health Council is an intergovernmental body that coordinates health policy and joint purchasing among GCC members. It runs unified buying for medical supplies and devices 4. Third-party integrators plus governance, risk and compliance (GRC) software firms should focus on Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia accounts for 40% of regional cyber incidents and projects more than $1 billion of cybersecurity spend in 2024 5.
