Global IT firm Kyndryl launches AI-driven service management platform
Kyndryl, a NYSE-listed IT infrastructure services firm, launched Agentic Service Management on April 7, offering consulting assessments and implementation blueprints for enterprises adopting AI agents in IT operations, as firms try to add oversight and governance to autonomous systems.
The service, offered through Kyndryl Consult, reviews a company’s service management, AI governance, security, and operations, and checks policies and workflows against standards including ISO 42001, the company said.
Kyndryl also said Agentic AI Digital Trust is available as a separate service for risk and compliance needs in hybrid and multi-cloud environments, and that it is using Agentic Service Management in its own IT service delivery.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Kyndryl’s service targets the clash between AI potential and legacy IT systems
- The launch tackles a common gap in enterprise tech. Many setups were built for humans handling support tickets, while autonomous AI agents must work across complex hybrid and multi-cloud systems 1.
- Kyndryl ties that gap to weak AI payback. It said nearly half of organizations struggle to get meaningful returns because governance and day-to-day workflows still follow pre-AI habits, citing its Readiness Report 1.
- The new service builds on Kyndryl’s automation base. The company said it runs nearly 200 million automations each month using more than 8,000 certified playbooks (predefined, tested automation workflows) 1.
The AI boom is creating a new market for governance and integration services
- The launch suggests the market is growing up. More attention is landing on fitting AI into existing operations in a safe way.
- This opens a lane for governance and trust services. Regulated industries need frameworks that manage risk and oversee agentic AI across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, and Kyndryl frames its standalone “Kyndryl Agentic AI Digital Trust” offering around that need 1.
- The shift is likely to change IT roles. Demand may rise for people who coordinate human-AI teams and build compliant automated workflows, while routine manual work declines 2.
