GitLab is adding tools to govern enterprise AI coding
GitLab, a DevSecOps platform in the US, said it is adding tools to help enterprises govern AI-assisted software development.
The new products include Artifact Central for packages and containers, Dependency Firewall for package checks, and Impact Analytics for tracking AI costs and outcomes.
Artifact Central is in beta on GitLab.com. Dependency Firewall and Impact Analytics are in early access.
GitLab said Secrets Manager is generally available on GitLab.com, while support for GitLab Self-Managed will come with release 19.5.
Orbit is set to become generally available next month. GitLab’s new Security Standard sets five controls for agentic software development.
GitLab also said its security workflows will add “Claude Mythos 5 and 5.1” next month.
However, a separate GitLab blog title names “Mythos-class Claude Fable 5”, creating a naming discrepancy.
GitHub promotes secure AI development for enterprises and addresses AI governance for Copilot rollouts.
OWASP, the Open Worldwide Application Security Project, also lists agentic AI threats and mitigations, and publishes a Top 10 for agentic skills.
