German retailer Aldi takes stake in Philippine discounter Dali

Marcus Almeling, Group CFO of Aldi Süd Group, said in a social media post that Aldi Süd Group, a Germany-based discount supermarket operator, has acquired a stake in Dali Everyday Grocery.

Dali is a hard discount retailer in the Philippines with more than 1,300 stores.

The post did not disclose the size of the stake or the financial terms.

It said Dali will remain independently managed, with its local team keeping full operational responsibility.

Almeling said Aldi Süd would share its hard-discount expertise in product selection, cost control, and store format to support Dali’s growth in the Philippines.
