US geothermal developer Fervo Energy targets $1.8b IPO

Houston-based geothermal power developer Fervo Energy raised the target for its US IPO to as much as US$1.82 billion by offering 70 million shares at US$25 to US$26 each ahead of pricing on May 12.

At the top of the range, the company would be valued at about US$7.4 billion as energy producers seek investor interest tied to rising data center power demand.

Fervo reported a net loss of US$70.5 million on US$138 million in 2025 revenue versus a US$41.1 million loss on US$199 million a year earlier.

Its backers include Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Devon Energy, while Alphabet joined a US$462 million funding round in December.

JPMorgan, Bank of America, RBC, and Barclays are leading the offering and the shares are set to trade on Nasdaq under the symbol FRVO.
