General Catalyst said to join $200m round of Germany AI firm

Parloa, a German startup developing AI agents for customer service, is in talks to raise about US$200 million in a new funding round.

The company is discussing a valuation between US$2 billion and US$3 billion, with General Catalyst among the investors approached.

Sources said Parloa could also attract takeover interest, but deliberations are ongoing.

Founded in 2018, Parloa builds software agents that handle customer interactions through chat and phone.

It has offices in Germany and New York and counts Swiss Life Holding AG and Decathlon SA as customers.

The startup has raised US$186 million since April 2024 and competes with firms like Salesforce, Sierra, and Cognigy.
