General Catalyst leads $10m round for brain-game startup Matiks

Bengaluru-based Matiks, a social gaming startup focused on brain games, has raised US$10 million in a pre-series A round led by General Catalyst to fund overseas expansion and product development.

Entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala and existing investors Info Edge Ventures, Tanglin Venture Partners, and Untitled Ventures also joined the round.

The company said it would expand first in the US, add new games and social features, and build an AI tool that lets users create and publish games without writing code.

Founded in 2024, Matiks said 2.2 million people played 48 million games on its platform in September 2026.

The startup added that daily active users had more than doubled since June to over 300,000, with early traction in Japan, the US, and South Korea.
