General Catalyst joins $4m round for Indian AI startup Sol
Sol, an AI startup based in India and founded by former CRED executives Anish Karan, Prateek Srivastava, and Ranjith Nair, has raised US$4 million from General Catalyst, Nexus Venture Partners, DeVC, Peercheque, and Kunal Shah.
The funding will go toward research and development, and go-to-market efforts.
Sol, founded in August 2025, said its product automates email-based work such as research, document creation, slide preparation, scheduling, and drafting replies, while leaving final approval to the user.
The startup added that the platform goes beyond drafting replies.
After identifying a commitment in an email and its context, Sol said it can carry out related work, including preparing documents, presentations, research, and meeting coordination.
Sol said the tool runs in its own computer environment, where users can access a browser, and uses a library of more than 100 specialist skills.
It is currently available through selective access and a waitlist.
Public reports did not specify whether the financing was a seed or pre-seed round.
