General Catalyst to invest $5b in India over five years
Venture capital firm General Catalyst plans to invest US$5 billion in India over the next five years, according to an announcement at the India AI Impact Summit 2026.
The firm has previously backed companies such as Canva, Zepto, and Anthropic.
CEO Hemant Taneja highlighted India’s large and young workforce, with 1 million new entrants each month, and its potential to drive entrepreneurship and AI adoption.
