General Catalyst backs Otter.ai with $320m in funding
Otter.ai, a US-based meeting note-taking startup, said on October 20 that it raised US$320 million from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund.
The fund provides non-dilutive capital and earns returns tied to marketing spend results. Otter said it will use the money to grow its enterprise business, refine its market strategy, expand internationally, and develop its product.
PitchBook data showed that Otter had previously raised US$50 million, with its last funding round in 2021.
Otter said it surpassed US$100 million in annual recurring revenue in 2025 but did not give an updated figure.
The company also said 40 million people have used its product to date, up from 25 million last year. Otter did not disclose monthly active users or churn.
Otter faces competition from meeting note-taking and productivity tools such as Fireflies.ai, Read AI, Calendly, and Fathom. Many of these companies are adding workflow automation and other AI features.
