China’s Geely Holding Group, an automaker that owns multiple vehicle brands, said on October 16 that its cars in overseas markets will come with Google built-in services, including Maps, Play, and Gemini.

The first rollout is planned for the second half of 2027 in markets outside China and the US, subject to approvals and market readiness.

Google has said Gemini will roll out to cars with Google built-in across millions of vehicles. Volvo Cars has also expanded its partnership with Google to deploy Gemini in its vehicles.

The European Data Protection Supervisor has examined privacy and data protection risks in connected cars, though Geely did not say which approvals the rollout would require.
