Foxconn sees 25.54% revenue growth in April
Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer and a major assembler of Apple’s iPhones, reported a 25.54% increase in revenue for April 2025 compared to the same month last year.
The Taiwan-based company expects continued growth in the second quarter of 2025.
However, it emphasized the importance of monitoring the effects of changing global political and economic conditions.

🧠 Food for thought
1️⃣ Foxconn’s fortunes remain closely tied to Apple despite diversification efforts
The 25.54% year-on-year revenue growth demonstrates Foxconn’s continued strong performance, likely influenced by its decades-long relationship with Apple, which has accounted for up to 60% of its revenue1.
This interdependence dates back to the iPhone’s 2007 launch, when Foxconn’s revenue surged from $21.54 billion in 2005 to $38.11 billion by 20071.
Despite efforts to reduce this dependency through mergers and acquisitions after experiencing its first yearly profit drop since 2008 in 2017 (when iPhone sales weakened)2, Foxconn remains significantly exposed to Apple’s market fluctuations.
The relationship illustrates both the benefits and risks of strategic partnerships in electronics manufacturing. While providing stability during Apple’s growth periods, it creates vulnerability when demand shifts.
2️⃣ Electronics manufacturers navigate unprecedented economic volatility
Foxconn’s caution about “evolving global political and economic conditions” reflects industry-wide challenges affecting even the largest manufacturers.
The electronics sector has seen declining growth rates (from 3.3% in 2018 to 2.6% in 2019) while facing inflation that jumped from 4.7% in 2021 to 8.8% in 2022, with 90% of manufacturers reporting increased material costs3.
These pressures are compounded by ongoing US-China trade tensions that have imposed an estimated $50 billion in annual tariffs on electronic goods3.
Companies throughout the supply chain are responding with resilience strategies including nearshoring, reshoring, and diversifying suppliers—measures Foxconn likely considers as it monitors the global economic landscape despite its current growth.
