Foxconn invests $345m in US

Taiwanese manufacturing firm Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., also known as Foxconn, has invested NT$11.3 billion (approximately US$345 million) in its United States-based subsidiaries.

The investment includes funding for eight American units, including Cloud Network Technology USA Inc. and NWE Technology Inc., as noted by the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

The company did not disclose the specific purpose of these investments.

However, industry sources suggest that the funds may be directed towards enhancing its AI server production capabilities, in anticipation of potential US policy changes under President Donald Trump.

In November, Foxconn acquired land and a facility in Houston’s Harris County for US$33.03 million.

This move is seen as facilitating increased AI server production in North America.
