Former FTX execs Salame, Ellison get sentence reductions

Two former executives of the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX have had their prison sentences reduced, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Ryan Salame, sentenced to 7.5 years in prison in May 2023 for fraud charges, now has a release date of March 1, 2031, over a year earlier than his original schedule.

Caroline Ellison, the former CEO of Alameda Research, saw her two-year sentence reduce by three months, with a new release date of July 20, 2026.

The Bureau of Prisons did not specify the reasons for the reduced sentences but noted that inmates can earn good conduct time or participate in approved programs for sentence credits.

Meanwhile, FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, sentenced to 25 years for fraud, has no listed release date.
