Fomo Pay adds DuitNow QR payments in Singapore
Singapore-based Fomo Pay said on June 3 that it plans to let merchants in Singapore accept DuitNow QR payments.
Malaysian visitors pay in ringgit through their banking and payment apps.
Merchants will receive settlement in Singapore dollars.
DuitNow QR is Malaysia’s national QR payment scheme.
Fomo Pay tied the rollout to the upcoming Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, which is expected to increase cross-border travel between the two countries when passenger service begin at the end of 2026.
Malaysia’s Mass Rapid Transit Corp has estimated that the line could carry about 40,000 passengers a day.
The rollout builds on a Singapore-Malaysia cross-border QR payment link launched in 2023 that links NETS QR and DuitNow QR for participating financial institutions in both markets.
