Flipkart sells $270.3m in assets ahead of 2026 IPO

Flipkart has sold investments worth over 2,400 crore rupee (US$270.3 million) in the past year as it prepares for an IPO in 2026.

The Bengaluru-based ecommerce firm, majority-owned by Walmart, sold shares in Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL), and trucking platform Blackbuck.

On October 6, Flipkart sold its entire 6% stake in Aditya Birla Lifestyle Brands for 998 crore rupee (US$112.4 million).

Earlier, it sold its 6% stake in ABFRL for 587.7 crore rupee (US$66.2 million) in June after investing 1,500 crore rupee (US$168.9 million) in 2020.

The company also exited Blackbuck, selling a 4.5% stake during the IPO in November 2024 and the remaining 8.7% in June 2025 for 672 crore rupee (US$75.7 million).

Flipkart still holds interests in Shadowfax Technologies and Arvind Youth Brands.
