Flipkart expands quick commerce footprint with 200 dark stores
Flipkart has expanded its quick commerce service, ‘Minutes,’ by setting up over 200 dark stores across 14 cities.
Launched in August 2022, the service delivers groceries, electronics, and smartphones within 8 to 16 minutes. Flipkart first piloted the service in Bengaluru and expanded to Delhi in September 2022.
The company plans to grow its dark store network to 500-550 locations ahead of its ‘Big Billion Days’ event this year.
Flipkart Minutes VP Kanchan Mishra noted the rising demand for quick delivery, especially among homemakers. Competitors like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto are also scaling up.
Blinkit runs around 1,229 stores, while Zepto operates 1,147 but has slowed growth ahead of a planned IPO in FY2026.
