Flipkart-backed healthtech firm FlexifyMe nets $2.3m pre-series A

FlexifyMe, an AI-powered healthtech company based in Pune, has raised 20 crore rupee (US$2.3 million) in pre-series A funding led by IvyCap Ventures, with participation from Signal Ventures and existing investors.

The company said the funds will be used to expand its hybrid care centres and develop posture and gait analysis labs in Pune, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

FlexifyMe uses AI-driven diagnostics and physiotherapy to address chronic pain and mobility issues.

The company plans to enhance its clinical research partnerships and introduce new technology for posture and gait analysis.

FlexifyMe previously raised US$1 million in a seed round led by Flipkart Ventures and received investment on Shark Tank India season 3.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Modest funding rounds reflect focused growth strategy in expanding physiotherapy market

  • FlexifyMe’s funding trajectory shows steady progression from $1 million seed funding in 2023 to ₹20 crore ($2.4 million) pre-Series A, suggesting a measured approach to scaling rather than aggressive capital raising23.
  • This conservative funding approach aligns with the substantial market opportunity, as India’s physiotherapy services market is projected to reach $1.9 billion by 20302.
  • The company’s visibility boost from Shark Tank India Season 3, where it secured investment from Namita Thapar, helped accelerate product development and brand recognition between funding rounds1.
  • Rather than pursuing large funding rounds typical of many healthtech startups, FlexifyMe appears focused on demonstrating clinical validation and building sustainable revenue streams before major expansion.

Hybrid care model emerges as competitive strategy against established healthtech players

  • FlexifyMe’s hybrid approach combining online consultations with offline diagnostic labs differentiates it from established competitors like Practo and MediBuddy, which primarily focus on digital-first models3.
  • The company plans to open physical posture and gait analysis labs in major cities including Pune, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, moving beyond purely telehealth solutions2.
  • This strategy addresses a key limitation in remote physiotherapy by providing objective, in-person diagnostic capabilities that complement AI-driven assessments1.
  • The hybrid model allows FlexifyMe to serve both enterprises and individual patients while maintaining clinical validation standards that pure-digital competitors may struggle to achieve4.
