Fintech firm eToro delays US IPO following market volatility
Israeli fintech company eToro has delayed its planned US IPO, according to Bloomberg. The move follows market volatility sparked by US President Donald Trump’s recent tariff announcements.
EToro had planned to begin its investor roadshow soon but has postponed it indefinitely.
Other companies delaying IPOs include Klarna, Medline, and StubHub, all citing market instability.
The US IPO market had started recovering after a long slump due to high interest rates. However, Trump’s tariff news led to a selloff in capital markets and wiped value from the S&P 500.
China’s retaliatory tariffs worsened the situation.
Despite the delay, eToro posted strong financials in 2024, with net profit rising to US$192 million from US$15.3 million in 2023. Revenue reached US$931 million, driven by crypto trading. The company is reportedly targeting a valuation of at least US$5 billion.
