Finnish healthtech firm Oura raises $900m led by Fidelity
Oura, a healthtech firm based in Finland and San Francisco, has raised over US$900 million in a funding round led by Fidelity Management & Research Company.
Iconiq, Whale Rock, and Atreides also joined the investment, which values the company at around US$11 billion.
Oura said it will use the funds to accelerate product development, AI innovation, and global distribution.
The company reported revenue of more than US$500 million in 2024 and claimed to have sold 5.5 million Oura Rings since its 2015 launch.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Oura’s ~$11B valuation leans on growth forecasts and scarce public data
- Yahoo Finance puts 2025 revenue at more than $1 billion, up from about $500 million in 2024, and the piece has no audited financials 1. Oura sells one-time hardware plus a subscription (paid membership for software features), with third-party estimates putting the mix near 80% hardware with 20% from subscriptions 2.
- Oura has sold about 5.5 million rings 1. Without churn (the rate at which subscribers cancel) and renewal data, investors cannot gauge if growth holds or if retention (how many subscribers stay active over time) matches other wearables.
- If completed, the Series E (a late-stage venture capital round) would value Oura around $10.9 billion 1. That would roughly double the ~$5 billion valuation from December 2024 and it raises execution risk if growth or retention lag 1.
Logistics and payment firms can tap Oura’s expansion abroad
- Oura plans to use new capital to boost production and expand internationally 1. The Yahoo Finance piece does not list country coverage 1, while third-party research names Target and Amazon 2.
- Cross-border e-commerce platforms, logistics companies, and payment processors can work with Oura on localization. Focus areas include customs clearance and warehousing. They also include currency conversion and medical device compliance.
- Health insurers plus benefits administrators where Oura lacks a direct presence can bundle the ring with wellness programs and help solve last-mile distribution (the final delivery to end users).
