HMD Global, the Finnish company that produces Nokia-branded phones, has announced the launch of the Fusion X1 smartphone.

Designed for children, this device allows parents to control their children’s online activities.

It will be available in May for a price between US$250 and US$300.

The Fusion X1 includes an operating system that lets parents limit access to features during school or bedtime.

It also allows trusted contacts and prevents access to social media and web browsers. Additionally, it provides location tracking and alerts when children leave designated safe areas.

With the Fusion X1, HMD Global is entering the child-focused smartphone market, competing with brands like Pinwheel and Gabb.
