Ex-Tech Mahindra CEO’s AI startup partners with Indosat
AIonOS, founded by former Tech Mahindra CEO CP Gurnani, has partnered with Indonesian telecom giant Indosat to develop AI-driven solutions for sectors like tourism, agriculture, and education.
The collaboration, part of a government-to-government initiative between India and Indonesia, aims to accelerate digital transformation in Southeast Asia.
AIonOS will establish a Centre of Excellence in Jakarta in partnership with Chinese AI firm DeepSeek, utilizing its open-source large language models (LLMs).
Gurnani addressed concerns about working with a Chinese company, emphasizing that AIonOS adheres to regulations and works with various global AI leaders in different regions.
The partnership will focus on creating AI-enabled tools to improve workforce skills, agricultural resilience, and productivity in Indonesia.
Founded by Gurnani and InterGlobe Enterprises’ Rahul Bhatia, AIonOS is positioned to drive growth in AI applications, aligning with India’s projected US$17 billion GenAI market by 2030.
