Ex-PropertyGuru CEO launches new startup in Singapore

Genie Health, a healthtech startup using AI, plans to launch its platform in Singapore.

The company says its product will consolidate health data from medical records, wearables, and family history to offer personalized health insights.

Genie Health was founded by Hari V. Krishnan, former CEO of PropertyGuru Group; Maya Hari, former CEO of Terrascope; and Sandeep Suvarna, previously at Twitch and LinkedIn.

The company also aims to partner with healthcare providers, such as diagnostic labs and clinics, to help deliver digital experiences and personalized care.

Genie Health said its platform is powered by generative AI and is designed to simplify health information for users.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Singapore’s digital health market timing favors AI-powered startups

Genie’s launch aligns with Singapore’s rapidly expanding digital health sector, which reached $671 million in 2024 and is projected to grow at 16% annually to $1.27 billion by 20291.

This growth is driven by an aging population and rising healthcare costs, creating demand for innovative solutions that can improve efficiency and accessibility.

The timing also coincides with broader healthcare industry trends, where over 90% of healthcare executives anticipate significant impacts from digital tools in 20252.

Generative AI adoption specifically is expected to increase significantly this year, with healthcare organizations exploring its potential to improve both clinical and administrative workflows3.

Singapore’s government has been actively supporting health tech innovation, as demonstrated by initiatives like Synapxe’s GenAIus Challenge, which engaged over 160 public healthcare staff to develop AI tools for workflow challenges4.

2️⃣ Consumer demand for personalized health experiences creates market opportunity

Genie’s focus on making health data “easy to understand, actionable, and personalized” addresses a clear consumer need, with research showing 65% of healthcare consumers desire more convenient experiences5.

The shift towards AI-powered personalization in healthcare is expected to create “whole person” health experiences that integrate physical, mental, and social health data for individualized treatment6.
