Mira Murati, OpenAI’s former chief technology officer, is reportedly seeking venture capital for a new AI startup.

According to sources at Reuters, the funding round could surpass US$100 million.

Murati announced her departure from OpenAI last month, citing personal exploration as her reason. She did not specify her plans.

Before joining OpenAI in 2018, Murati worked at Tesla and Leap Motion. She became OpenAI’s CTO in 2022 and briefly served as interim CEO during a leadership change.
