Ex-Investree CEO arrested after being on the run

Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) and national police have arrested Adrian Gunadi, the former CEO of Indonesian fintech company Investree, in connection with alleged illegal fund collection.

He is accused of raising at least 2.7 trillion rupiah (around US$161.4 million) from the public without OJK approval between January 2022 and March 2024, using two legal entities under Investree’s name.

Authorities say some of the funds were used for personal benefit.

He was previously uncooperative and found to be in Qatar, prompting OJK and police to issue a wanted notice and request extradition through official channels.

He has now been returned to Indonesia and is being held by OJK at the police’s detention facility.
