Ex-US prosecutor’s VC firm raises $1b for crypto investments

Haun Ventures is raising US$1 billion for two new funds, with US$500 million allocated for early-stage investments and US$500 million for late-stage ventures. The fundraising effort is expected to conclude in June 2025.

The firm previously raised US$1.5 billion in 2022, led by founder Katie Haun, a former federal prosecutor known for her blockchain investigations.

Haun Ventures has invested in crypto infrastructure and stablecoin projects, backing companies like Bridge and BVNK, and participating in secondary investments in Chainalysis and Fireblocks.

With nearly all its initial funds deployed, the new fundraising is expected to be oversubscribed despite market challenges.

The firm has also adapted to industry changes, hiring Anchorage cofounder Diogo Mónico as a general partner while seeing some key departures.
