Ex-Google employees’ productivity startup raises $25m

Tana, a startup developing AI-driven productivity software, has secured US$25 million in funding.

The platform automates tasks like note-taking and creating action items by processing data from tools such as Zoom and audio memos, converting unstructured information into structured outputs like lists and spreadsheets.

Founded in 2020 by former Google employees, the company plans to expand its accessibility and enhance its AI-assisted knowledge management system.

The series A funding round, led by Tola Capital, raised US$14 million, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, and others.

An earlier seed round secured US$11 million from investors like La Famiglia and notable tech leaders Lars Rasmussen and Arash Ferdowsi.

Tana has strong demand, with over 160,000 users on its waitlist and 30,000 testing its closed beta.

The company partners primarily with OpenAI for natural language processing but also collaborates with Anthropic and other AI providers.
