Ex-Bridgewater AI chief to join Google DeepMind

Jasjeet Sekhon is joining Google’s DeepMind as chief strategy officer, Demis Hassabis, DeepMind’s founder, said in a LinkedIn post.

Sekhon will leave his roles as chief scientist and head of AI at Bridgewater Associates and will join Bridgewater’s board of directors, according to Hassabis.

Sekhon joined Bridgewater in 2018 and helped build its AI research and investment lab called AIA Labs, which is led by Greg Jensen, the firm’s co-chief investment officer.

He did not hold any investing responsibilities at Bridgewater and has previously held professorships at Harvard, UC Berkeley, and most recently Yale.
