EU approves $966.2m German subsidy for Infineon chip plant

The European Commission has approved €920 million (US$966.2 million) in state aid from Germany for Infineon to construct a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Dresden.

The funding will support Infineon’s Megafab-DD project.

It aims to produce various types of semiconductor chips.
