EToro leads $12.5m round for on-chain futures exchange

EToro, an Israel-founded online brokerage, led a US$12.5 million funding round in Extended, an onchain perpetual futures exchange founded by former Revolut employees, as brokerages expand into blockchain-based trading.

Jump Crypto and Alber Blanc joined the round.

The investment follows eToro’s April agreement to acquire self-custody wallet Zengo for about US$70 million and supports plans to integrate Extended’s perpetual futures engine into the wallet.

Extended describes itself as a decentralized perpetual futures exchange built on Starknet, with cross-asset collateral, as well as integrated spot and lending markets.

EToro said the Zengo deal would speed up its plans to connect traditional finance with onchain infrastructure and support digital-asset products such as tokenized assets and perpetual futures.

Robinhood Europe already offers blockchain-recorded stock tokens and perpetual futures.
