Ethereum staking tops 30% as institutions drive growth: report

Ethereum has reached a new milestone, with 36.6 million ETH staked, accounting for over 30% of its total supply, based on on-chain data from Validator Queue.

This surge is driven by increased institutional participation, marking a significant shift in the network’s structure.

Bitmine alone has staked 2.58 million ETH, worth about US$7.7 billion, or roughly 61% of its holdings.

The launch of Lido V3, which introduces stVaults for customized validator setups, is also seen as supporting this growth.

The rise in staking strengthens network security but reduces market liquidity, as nearly one-third of ETH is now locked.

BlackRock’s registration of the “iShares Staked Ethereum Trust” in Delaware further signals growing institutional interest in ETH-linked ETFs.

Overall, the trend points to deeper institutional involvement and a move toward passive yields. However, the impact on ETH prices remains uncertain.
