Equinix, a US-based data center operator, unveiled two services on September 3 at its Equinix Horizon event for companies in Malaysia and other markets that need to run and connect AI workloads across clouds.

One is Equinix Inference Exchange, developed with Nvidia and Together AI, a US-based AI cloud company.

Equinix said the service will support more than 200 open-source models when it becomes available in Q1 2027.

The other is Equinix Fabric One, a managed connectivity service with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud as lead integration partners.

Equinix said it will handle routing, encryption, resiliency, and connectivity.

The launch has local relevance because Equinix already has a presence in Malaysia, including its Kuala Lumpur KL1 facility.

Equinix also offers Equinix Fabric, which it described as an on-demand, software-defined interconnection service linking enterprises, networks, and cloud providers.

The company said the announcements address demand for AI infrastructure that places workloads closer to data, applications, and users, and connects them across cloud and enterprise environments.
