Enterprise Singapore, HDB launch initiatives for building tech

Enterprise Singapore, the country’s agency for enterprise development, and the Housing & Development Board (HDB), its public housing authority, announced three initiatives at SWITCH 2026 to help built environment companies test and scale products for construction, ageing infrastructure, and heat resilience.

The initiatives include a Demo Day featuring 13 firms, the opening of the 317-square-meter Building Research, Innovation & Collaboration (BRIC) Lab on October 28, and a new call for proposals under HDB’s Cool Ideas Entreprise program.

The lab is a co-working research and development space at HDB’s Centre of Building Research.

Enterprise Singapore has committed S$4 million (US$3.13 million) to support eligible companies developing solutions under the call. Promising products may be piloted in HDB housing projects.

Cool Ideas Enterprise is aimed at supporting smart and sustainable homes, and HDB has also highlighted 3D imaging to detect spalling in buildings.
