Fermaca Global plans to develop a US$3.7 billion data infrastructure and fertilizer plant in Durango, Mexico.

The Mexico-based company has engaged several domestic and international banks to support the projects, with a term sheet already agreed upon, according to Fermaca’s commercial head.

The initiative includes the US$2.7 billion Digital City project, which will deploy 2,000 kilometers of dark fiber connecting Texas to central Mexico, with Fermaca committing US$100 million.

The dark fiber network, built in four phases, will take 15 to 18 months, with long-term contracts in place for major tech and telecom firms.
