ElevenLabs CEO eyes IPO preparations in 2028

London-based ElevenLabs, which develops AI voice and audio models for enterprise communications and media, may begin preparing for an initial public offering in 2028, CEO Mati Staniszewski said at a Bloomberg Tech event in London.

The company recently completed a US$300 million employee tender offer that valued it at US$22 billion. This follows a US$180 million series C funding round announced on January 30, 2025.

ElevenLabs also launched a tool that detects synthetic voices in live audio streams. The product is for organizations such as government agencies that may struggle to handle higher call volumes from AI agents.

European Union transparency rules impose disclosure obligations for some AI interactions and deepfake content.

The startup faces competition from Alibaba’s Qwen model and US-based Fish Audio.

Its IPO comments come as EY said the UK initial public offering market showed recovery in 2026.
