Electronic components maker Jabil to invest $125m in India

United States-based electronics manufacturing company Jabil will invest approximately US$125 million to establish a silicon photonics manufacturing plant in Gujarat.

The announcement occurred during the IESA Vision Summit in Gandhinagar, where the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government.

The plant, expected to be operational by year-end, will produce high-speed data transmission components for telecom, AI, and 5G.

Jabil EVP, Matt Crowley, highlighted India’s skilled workforce and economic growth as key factors in the company’s investment decision.
