Electric taxi Xanh SM launches in Jakarta with free rides
Operators of a fleet of electric taxis have started services in Jakarta under the Xanh SM brand from Vietnam.
The initiative aims to offer a sustainable alternative to traditional taxis and help reduce the city’s pollution.
These taxis are exempt from Jakarta’s odd-even traffic rule.
Commuters can book rides through the Xanh SM app, hail them on the street, or call a designated hotline.
During the launch, Xanh SM offers two free rides per day for app-based bookings from December 12 to December 17, 2024.
