EHang gains certification to launch flying taxis in China

Flying taxis could launch in China within 3–5 years, following EHang’s certification to operate pilotless aerial vehicles.

The approval allows EHang and its partner Hefei Heyi Aviation to start commercial services, beginning with tourist rides in Guangzhou and Hefei by June.

EHang will use its EH216-S model, a two-seater electric aircraft with 16 propellers, a top speed of 130 km/h, and a 30 km range.

EHang is eyeing air taxi services in cities like Hefei and Shenzhen, aiming for affordability to encourage adoption.
