Ex-Redmart co-founder raises $2.8m for kids’ gaming venture
Nurture, a Barcelona-based kids’ gaming startup founded by ex-Redmart co-founder Roger Egan, has secured $2.8 million in pre-seed funding led by Golden Gate Ventures, with participation from Lance Priebe, co-founder of Club Penguin.
The startup recently launched its flagship title, “Doki’s Delivery,” aimed at cultivating emotional intelligence in children through interactive gameplay. The main storyline involves characters on a mission to deliver an egg using a spaceship.
Egan founded Nurture in 2022 following educational challenges faced during the pandemic. He voiced concerns that traditional education may not adequately prepare children for an AI-driven future, stressing the importance of adaptability, critical thinking, digital literacy, mindfulness, and empathy for future success.
The investment is aimed at diversifying content available on the platform.
