Dutch medtech firm Plasmacure nets $7m series A

Plasmacure, a Dutch medical technology company, has raised €6 million (US$7 million) in series A funding to expand its Plasoma cold plasma system for treating complex wounds.

The round was led by US-based Venture Medical, LLC, with participation from Coöperatie VGZ, Noaber, Stichting Triade, and existing investors EIC Fund and Oost NL.

Venture Medical will also provide over US$10 million to support regulatory and reimbursement efforts for Plasoma in the US.

Plasoma targets chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and pressure ulcers.

A recent clinical trial showed it could close wounds up to 2.5 times more effectively than standard treatments.

The funding will support global rollout and adoption as aging populations and rising diabetes rates drive demand for advanced wound care.
