Dutch crypto firm Amdax to launch bitcoin treasury on Euronext

Amdax, a cryptocurrency service provider in Amsterdam, plans to launch a bitcoin treasury company called AMBTS on the Dutch stock exchange.

The firm said it aims for AMBTS to be listed on Euronext Amsterdam, one of Europe’s main exchanges.

CEO Lucas Wensing said the timing is right, citing growing bitcoin holdings by corporations, governments, and institutions.

Bitcoin has risen nearly 32% in 2025, reaching record highs.

Amdax and AMBTS will seek private investor funding, with a long-term goal of owning 1% of all bitcoin.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ Corporate bitcoin adoption accelerating creates favorable market timing

AMBTS is entering a rapidly expanding market where institutional bitcoin adoption has reached unprecedented levels.

Corporate Bitcoin holdings hit a record high in Q1 2025, with public companies accelerating their treasury strategies1.

Analysts now estimate that public companies could allocate up to $330 billion to Bitcoin over the next five years, demonstrating the massive scale of institutional interest2.

The top public companies already hold substantial positions, with MicroStrategy leading with 628,946 BTC valued at over $73 billion3.

This institutional momentum aligns with AMBTS CEO Lucas Wensing’s observation that “over 10% of bitcoin supply” is now held by corporations, governments, and institutions, suggesting the company is timing its launch to capture this accelerating trend.

2️⃣ Bitcoin treasury companies command significant market premiums through leverage access

AMBTS’s plan to raise capital from private investors and eventually list publicly follows a proven model where Bitcoin treasury companies trade at substantial premiums to their underlying bitcoin holdings.

These companies typically trade at significant premiums to their net asset values, with some reaching over 300% premiums due to their ability to access leverage through public capital markets4.
