Dubai’s Visarun.ai targets India’s $61.7b travel market with AI tools

Dubai-based visa processing startup visarun.ai said on May 7 that it launched operations in Bangalore, its first move outside the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The company is targeting India’s outbound travel market with AI tools for visa applications.

The platform’s initial products cover e-visas for Saudi Arabia, Oman, Vietnam, and Indonesia, and it also supports Schengen Type C and US B1/B2 applications, with packages starting at US$49.

Visarun.ai said its system uses large language models and computer vision to check documents against embassy rules, fix passport photo issues, and shorten some visa processing from 3-6 weeks to 1-3 days.

It also offers Mira, an AI interview practice tool.

The company said India’s outbound tourism market will reach US$61.7 billion by 2033 with more than 50 million international travelers a year.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

A US$700,000 investment is backing the India push

  • Visarun.ai entered Bangalore after a US$700,000 pre-seed round backed by Swiss- and UAE-based angel investors, people who invest their own money in early-stage startups 1.
  • The company says strategic investors in fintech and enterprise technology led the round, though it did not name them 2.
  • That funding supports its visa-as-a-service platform. The Bangalore launch focuses on outbound travel and visa applications, not a stated business-to-business (B2B) product for other companies 3.

The pitch goes past travel into visa software

  • Investor backgrounds in trading and ecommerce do not confirm a focus on business travel, cross-border commerce, workforce management, or supply chains over tourism 1.
  • Visarun.ai calls itself a visa-as-a-service platform, yet the cited material does not say it connects with human resources systems, relocation firms, or neobanks, digital-first banks, managing migrant worker documents 3.
  • The expansion plan covers the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India, and China, markets with large migrant populations 3.
  • AI often handles narrow regulated tasks, though that broader pattern is not presented as a Visarun.ai-specific fact in the cited material 4.
