Dubai’s talabat, QuikBot partner to test high-rise delivery robots

Dubai-based delivery platform talabat signed a memorandum of understanding with QuikBot, a Singapore-headquartered robotics company, on September 7 to pilot robots for high-rise deliveries.

The pilot is underway at the A6 commercial building in Dubai Digital Park in Dubai Silicon Oasis.

Riders hand orders to a QuikBot robot at a designated point in the building, and the robot takes the elevator and completes the trip to the customer’s door. Customers retrieve orders with a one-time password.

The companies said they will assess whether the setup saves riders time and how well talabat’s and QuikBot’s systems work together before considering deeper integration or a wider rollout.

QuikBot has previously collaborated with FedEx on last-mile deliveries in Singapore.

The test also comes as Dubai Silicon Oasis has launched food delivery robots in the community.
