Dubai’s Damac Group to invest $1b in Thailand data centers

Damac Group’s subsidiary, Edgnex Data Centers, will invest about US$1 billion in data center projects in Thailand.

This investment is part of a wider initiative by tech companies to enhance cloud and AI services in the region.

Edgnex Data Centers, in partnership with local provider Proen Corp., plans to invest over 32 billion baht in the development of three to four data centers.

The first facility will be located in downtown Bangkok and is expected to launch by March 2025.

It will start with a capacity of 5 megawatts, which could grow to 20 megawatts as demand increases.

This investment mirrors Google, which has similarly committed US$1 billion to develop data centers in Thailand.
