DoorDash has completed its acquisition of Deliveroo, marking its official entry into Singapore.

Deliveroo operates a food delivery platform across nine markets, including Singapore, and is based in London.

Wolt co-founder Miki Kuusi will take over as CEO of Deliveroo, while also continuing as head of international at DoorDash.

Kuusi is expected to relocate to London in the coming months.

DoorDash CEO Tony Xu said Deliveroo’s app and services will continue to operate as usual following the acquisition.

The company also indicated plans to introduce new tools for merchants, and support features for riders.

Deliveroo currently works with around 178,000 merchants and over 130,000 riders.
